I started this blog to share my health journey and how making healthier choices has changed my life for the better. I want to inspire others to do the same for their health and their families.
My journey to health
My personal journey to health has been interesting, to say the least. I was a vegetarian off and on for ethical reasons, but I always add a lot of processed food and felt horrible. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2012, which made me become a label reader and realize how much food impacts your health.
I was always a fairly normal weight no matter what I did, so I thought that my eating habits didn’t matter. WOW, was I wrong! I tried a few diets over the years including several failed Whole 30’s, several versions of the Paleo diet, and even thought about keto until I tried it and felt absolutely terrible.
None of this worked and I kept hearing things about a plant-based diet. Honestly, I thought it was all just a trend, but I eventually bought How not to die and starting really researching. It took quite a while, but eventually, I fully transitioned to a plant-based diet (partly due to a health scare) and I’ve never felt better.
I’m not here to try to convince you that this is the best way, there are plenty of other places with solid information! I’d start with NutritionFacts.org. However, if you’re looking for simple tips and no judgment, that’s what I’m here for. You can read more about my personal journey in this post.
